The issue of global warming is a political hot potato (no pun intended) with some issuing dire warnings while others argue that recent trends may just be cyclical in nature and not likely caused by human activity. I am not qualified to weigh-in on that debate so I simply report the numbers.
As reported by Statista, 2024 was the warmest year on record and the ten warmest years since 1850 all occurred in the last decade. It has been 48 years (1976) since the Earth had a cooler than average year. Sobering!!
