J. Hal Daughdrill III
Founder & Director

Hal is one of the company’s founding shareholders and served as Chairman of the Board for 18 of the first 21 years of the company’s history.  He joined the Atlanta office in 2007 and served as Managing Director from 2012-2016. Previously, Hal was President and Chief Executive Officer of The Walker Companies, a family office with holdings in public securities, hedge funds, private equity, land and timber. Prior to joining The Walker Companies, he was a Vice President of Goldman Sachs & Co.

For over a decade, Hal has served as a facilitator to a number of independent schools across the Southeast on issues of governance and trusteeship. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the McCallie School in Chattanooga, TN and is a member of the school’s Endowment Committee. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of the Metro Atlanta YMCA, where he is chair of the Investment Committee. He is also a member of the downtown Rotary Club of Atlanta, the Chief Executives Organization (CEO) and is a past member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). Hal earned a B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Memphis.
